Pteropods (the “P” is silent) are free-swimming snails common in ocean waters around Antarctica. 𝘊𝘭𝘪𝘰𝘯𝘦 𝘭𝘪𝘮𝘢𝘤𝘪𝘯𝘢 is a predatory pteropod that has completely lost its shell. In an astonishing evolutionary twist, its main prey is the shelled pteropod 𝘓𝘪𝘮𝘢𝘤𝘪𝘯𝘢 𝘢𝘯𝘵𝘢𝘳𝘤𝘵𝘪𝘤𝘢.
