Music fans who are seeking to pin down AI artists versus human creatives on Spotify will soon have a new tool at their disposal. On Tuesday, the music streamer shared that it’s adding an “AI Persona” label to the platform as another way to help fans — and artists — identify AI creators.

Spotify announced that it will begin labeling certain artist accounts that aren't real people. The new AI Persona badge will add a level of transparency to music profiles that present themselves as human despite being generative AI creations.

The unreleased model, called Astra, showed signs that it could carry out cyberattacks autonomously, says OpenAI.

According to OpenAI, it can't declare with certainty that the unreleased Astra model would be designated as a "Critical capability level." As detailed in its own Preparedness Framework, OpenAI said the Critical designation means that a model "can identify and develop functional zero-day exploits of all severity levels in many hardened real-world critical systems without human intervention.

The company introduced Daybreak in May as a way for its ecosystem partners to use its most advanced AI models to adapt to a rapidly changing threat landscape.
