A Winter Weather Advisory is in effect from 3 a.m. to 1 p.m. Wednesday for all of Southeast Michigan. Snow develops mainly after 3 a.m. and continues through Wednesday morning.
Typical January conditions will dominate the first half of the week, but extreme cold and the potential for a disruptive winter storm loom on the horizon.
Thursday may bring minor snow accumulations in the morning, with high temperatures reaching the 20s. However, Thursday marks the final day before the next Arctic outbreak, which will bring the coldest air mass of the season.
Confidence is increasing that a weekend cold front could bring Texas its coldest temperatures of the winter, as well as possible ice and snow.
